Studied Chemical Engineering, Business Strategy and International Marketing at Helsinki University of Technology between 1989 and 1995. Started the career as Chemist in Petroleum industry in1995.  Worked 10 years for Stora Enso in several positions e.g. technical cutsomer service and product development as well as product manager.

Presentation Title: Easily Recyclable Barrier Boards for Food Service and Packaging Applications

Kotkamills, Finnish forest industry company, invested four years ago on new modern board machine capable of producing on-line coated plastic-free and easily recyclable water based dispersion barrier packaging boards with scalable volume of 400 000 t/a. Dispersion barriers enhance the performance of the board for example for grease, moisture and liquid resistance. Beeing easily recyclable, after converting or use, the board can be recycled in many available waste paper streams world wide. Strong fiber can be used as valuable rawmaterial for other end uses like tissue or secondary packaging boards. In Kotkamills mill integrate the packaging waste and for example used cups are recycled to raw material of industrial kraft paper. Easy recyclability enables effective use of raw materials and saves the nature and resources.
