Head of the application department for UV drying inks and sheet-fed inks. Since 2004 Product Manager for MGA (low-migration offset inks) and offset packaging inks, especially for food packaging. The hubergroup is one of the leading ink manufacturer for packaging inks with the main focus on offset. One of the most important developments in the last years was the introduction of low-migration sheet-fed inks for food packaging.

Legislation for food packages demands that there shall not be a transfer of any substances to the packed foodstuff that endangers the human health,influences the odour or taste of the packed food,and the composition or appearance of the packed food. Printing inks that are used for printing on the outer side of food packaging shall be specially designed and produced according to Good Manufacturing Practices. The presentation shows the efforts European ink manufacturers are making to enable printers to produce safe food packaging.
