Prof. Dr. Jose Maria (Chema) LAGARON is Group Leader and Founder of the group Novel Materials and Nanotechnology for Food Related Applications at the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) located in Valencia, Spain. He is Head of the Joint Unit IATA(CSIC)-UJI in Polymers Technology. He is also Lecturer of Materials Science at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Design (ESID), Polymers Group of the Area of Materials of the University Jaume I in Castellón, Spain.
JM Lagaron is also Founder of the technology based companies Nanobiomatters S.L., Bioinicia S.L. and Ocenic Resins S.L. Other highlights:

Presentation Title: Latest Developments in Biocircular Economy Barrier and Active Food Packaging
This presentation outlines the possibilities that have been recently developed, scaled and commercialized, to derive high barrier and active biodegradable in the environment food packaging, that is consistent with the latest trends in circular bioeconomy strategies. The packaging derives from residues of agrofood industries and is complying with the preservation requirements and shelf-life extension of many food products. These technologies can produce injection molding and thermoformed trays and flow pack films and can also be applied to paper.
