Oliver Walther

Oliver Walther has a background in Packaging Since 14 years being with different companies such as ELAU (now Schneider Electric). He started at Festo 2012 as a Application Engineer coming with a deep background in Application Knowledge. After his assignment to the Region Americas in 2015 and 2016 as the Head of Industry Segment Management and Key Account Management End Line Packaging. Today Oliver is responsible for the slected key accounts in Festo leading a team of 11 Global Key Account Managers.

Presentation Title: Industry 4.0 and Digitalization in Packaging Machines

In the scope of digitization, new motion units and solutions used in machines will be mentioned. It is inevitable that compressed air, which is one of the main parameters in energy consumption of the machines, will be used and monitored more efficiently with Industry 4.0 based devices. By increasing the automation level digitally, it is important to increase their performance even further. Thus, speed increase in machines, cost reduction and energy saving will be provided. In addition, Industry 4.0 compliant secondary and tertiary packaging systems will be described in packaging and flexible packaging solutions will be discussed.
