Alina Marm

Alina is Head of Global Sustainability & Circular Economy at Siegwerk, a global ink & coating solution provider for packaging. With her teams she drives the transformation towards a sustainable and circular packaging industry – inside and outside of Siegwerk. Alina joined Siegwerk beginning of 2020. Before joining Siegwerk she gained experience in consulting and manufacturing.

Alina holds a B.A. in European Studies, a LL.M in European and International Business Law and an Executive MBA (Distinction) from Oxford University (England). She is currently pursuing a PhD, researching pathways to prosperity for the informal plastic recycling ecosystem at the University College London (England).

Inks and coatings are only a small part of the packaging – by weight. But they play a mighty important role in crating sustainbale packaging. This presentation will show how inks and coatings enable sustainable packaging: covering aspects such as carbon reduciton and circularity. The presentation will make you understand that inks & coatings need to be considered when designing and producing Sustainable packaging. Examples from the packaging industry will be prvided throughout the presentation to make things tangible and provide inspiration for future developments.
