Umay Yılmaz,
who studied Environmental Engineering as the major, started her career in 2004
in water treatment systems. Later, she joined a NGO that works to establish a
sustainable recycling system in Turkey. She carried out projects together with
the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, associations, official
institutions, various foundations in order to improve waste management
practices nationwide.
She gave key-notes on number of conferences, symposiums, congresses on environment, circular economy, waste management, sustainability and received various awards for her efforts and projects. She is also acting as guest lecturer at various universities. Umay Yılmaz has a TEDx speech called "My Plan to Save the World". She currently works as OMÜD Secretary General.
