Dr. Mevlüt Çetinkaya

Mevlüt Çetinkaya was born in Ankara in 1959. He completed his primary and secondary school education in Ankara and high school education in Kayseri. He graduated from Anadolu University, Open Education Faculty, Department of Economics with a degree, completed his master's degree at Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Economics in 1988 and his doctorate in 1998.

In 1982, Çetinkaya started working at Petkim Holding A.Ş. and is currently working as Marketing Manager in the same organization.  He gave lectures at DEU Vocational High School Marketing Department and Faculty of Arts and Sciences Statistics Department. Mevlüt Çetinkaya, who is active in sectoral non-governmental organizations, is married and has two children.

Summary

Presentation Title: Plastic Packaging Sector in the Perspective of Sustainability and Circular Economy

In the first part of my presentation, I will try to bring a different perspective with the "Holistic Integrated Approach" that I am trying to develop by touching on the issue of sustainability in the economic process. I will try to provide a new perspective and contribution by adding a new "R" to the "9R" model, which constitutes the basic elements of the circular economy.

In the second part of the presentation, I will focus on the development of plastic and packaging in the world and its importance today. I will include the advantages of plastic over its alternatives.

 

In the last part of the presentation, I will touch upon the developments in the plastic industry from the perspective of sustainability and circular economy. I will make suggestions in terms of sustainability, including comparisons with plastic and alternative products.
